University of Arkansas Military and Dependent Scholarships

Student Affairs Scholarships

The Divison of Student Affairs offers a wide variety of scholarships each year based on a wide variety of qualifications and interests, a 4.0 GPA is not requried. Find all the deadlines, applications, and scholarships here

 

Military Dependent Scholarship (ADHE)

The Military Dependent Scholarship is scholarship that compliments CH 35 education benefits. The MDS Program will cover the unpaid portion of the cost (if any) of tuition and mandatory fees and a room and meal plan when provided in on-campus facilities after three (3) months of Dependents Education Assistance (DEA) or Chapter 35 benefits have been deducted from the total costs. Find more information here.  

 

Academic Challenge Scholarship

The Academic Challenge Program provides scholarships to Arkansas residents pursing a higher education. Funded in large part by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, the Academic Challenge Scholarship is available to students regardless of their academic standing. To apply the student must complete both the FASFA andSAMS 

 

Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship

Public Law 111-32, the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship, ammends the Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) to include the children of service members who die in the line of duty after Sept. 10, 2001. The benefit is effective August 1, 2009; the same day the Post-9/11 GI Bill® takes effect. Eligible children attending school may receive up to the highest public, in-state undergraduate tuition and fees, plus a monthly living stipend and book allowance under this program. VA will begin accepting applications for this benefit May 1, 2010, and will begin issuing payments to eligible children by 8/1/10. Children enrolled from 8/1/09 through 7/31/10 may receive retroactive payments for that time. For more information, call toll-free 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551)

 

Folds of Honor Scholarship 

The Folds of Honor Scholarship provides educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. Check eligibility and find more information here. 

 

Yellow Ribbon Program

The Yellow Ribbon Program may help to cover out of state tuition that is not covered by the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. Students are placed on the Yellow Ribbon Program on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must be eligible at 100% for the Post 9/11 GI Bill® in order to qualify.
