Veteran Impact Program
The Veteran Impact Program (VIP) is a one-semester cohort program for incoming or transfer student veterans that will support their transition to the UofA. The Veteran Impact Program will introduce the following themes to enhance their collegiate journey.
Through strengths-based coaching, participants will explore various topics to identify,
reflect, and grow in INDIVIDUALIZED skill development.
VIP will utilize both peer-to-peer and faculty-staff veteran MENTORSHIP to assist participants in understanding and adjusting to life on campus.
It is not enough to only succeed while here at the UofA; VIP will also focus on skills
and knowledge that will PREPARE them for after graduation.
Participants will learn about healthy habits, goal setting, and resources around campus
to help them achieve ACADEMIC SUCCESS.
In addition to the mentors, it is important for students to CONNECT with each other, the VMSC office staff, and the university as a whole.
This program will add an extra layer of support as veterans often TRANSITION from military to civilian life at the same time they are transitioning to student
life.
